About Instant Orthodontics with Porcelain Veneers
Instant orthodontics with porcelain veneers can correct mild alignment issues in as little as three dental appointments. Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin, tooth-shaped shells that are designed to cover the front surface of the teeth, completely masking dental flaws such as alignment issues, chips, misshaped teeth, and other irregularities. Instant orthodontics with porcelain veneers may also be used to close gaps between teeth, improve the size of teeth that are too small, and enhance the overall appearance of the smile.
What Is the Treatment Process for Instant Orthodontics?
The treatment process for instant orthodontics begins with determining if you're a good candidate for porcelain veneers. This entails checking the gums and teeth to ensure that both are healthy enough to support the veneers and that alignment issues are suitable for treatment with instant orthodontics. Once candidacy is determined, a treatment plan will be devised to design a beautiful smile.
The instant orthodontic treatment process itself will begin by preparing the teeth for veneer placement. This is done by removing a thin layer of enamel to allow room for the veneers to sit smoothly on the surface of the teeth. After the teeth are prepared, digital impressions of the teeth are taken and forwarded to a dental lab where each veneer is crafted to exacting specifications. Temporary veneers will be placed until the final veneers are ready.
Once the custom-made veneers are finished, an appointment will be made to ensure the finished veneers fit properly. After any adjustments are made and the temporary veneers are removed, a special solution will be applied to the front surface of the teeth. This helps to roughen the surface of the teeth to ensure a stronger bond between the teeth and veneers. The porcelain veneers are then bonded to teeth using durable dental cement and treatment is completed with a final polish.
